The repository contains dated records of curated mpox cases from the 2022 global outbreak.

In May 2022, Clade II mpox began spreading rapidly beyond historically endemic regions, prompting international alerts. Global.health integrated fragmented data sources into a standardized digital stream—manually curating over 63,000 confirmed cases across 112 countries and territories. This dataset enabled real-time monitoring through our line list, interactive map, and briefing report, and was used by Our World in Data and others for outbreak visualization and analysis.
